The Rhythm of the Rain by Grahame Baker-Smith

Issac is playing by the stream and wonders where the water he pours back into it from his jam jar goes. Minimal text and a journey across a mythic world shows a child the rain cycle.

Dreamy pictures combine with simple scientific exposition. Facts are presented hand in hand with the mystery and beauty of the world. Even as the river glides through a industrial townscape, there is beauty witnessed. The painter John Constable is reputed to have said, “I never saw an ugly thing in my life.”
